Sir Percy x Sweet Cando

Lot 225 is a Sir Percy filly that we purchased for €130,000 on Day One of the Goffs Orby Sale. She is the filly we identified from an early stage as one that we did not want to leave Ireland without. Indeed we have not purchased a horse on spec at any of the former sales which in itself tells you how much we wanted this filly.

Physical conformation and pedigree are two ingredients which help us fill part of the jigsaw when it comes to selecting future stars off only a quick walk. This filly has both. A good strong physical frame is hard to find in the majority of fillies but here we have a horse that has a body to match even the best of colts. With a walk to die for and an attitude which screams racehorse there seems very little guessing in whether she will be able to run or not.

Bought as a foal for 45,000GNS by renowned pin hookers Tally-Ho Stud, the filly has been raised on one of Irelands famed nurseries and came highly recommend. By The Derby winning sire, Sir Percy (Mark Of Esteem), out of Sweet Cando (Royal Applause), the filly is herself a sister in blood to two stakes horses, including her three parts brother Mr Mahoganeigh.
Sweet Cando has been bred to some of the breeding games lower end stallions, including Bushranger, and is obviously a mare well able to produce above her partners. Her Bushranger mating produced Agent Of Chaos who achieved a rating of 90 whilst racing in Ireland. It would be a great shock should the filly purchased at Goffs not be rated vastly higher than he. Therefore we are talking a filly of considerable potential and she should be able to add more blacktype to her smart family.
