JAARIH GETS THE BALL ROLLING FOR 2016
Despite it being a lowly claimer, I was delighted that Jaarih won yesterday. He was bought very sportingly by a close group of friends in the hope of providing me with my first winner. Although that plan went slightly astray at Wolverhampton a month ago, when he was caught in the dying strides, it is great to repay their faith and incredible support. Jaarih winning for them will forever be, one of my favourite moments on a racetrack.
We all know just how much investment goes into racing, so to buy a horse for £4,000 at the Horses in Training Sale and to sell ten weeks later, having won £3,000 in prize money, for £8,000 makes it all the more satisfying.
The boys did not buy Jaarih thinking they would get any kind of return, it was purely for the enjoyment and to support a friend. I cannot thank them enough.
