TWO YEAR OLDS CATCHING THE EYE
Although it is very early days the two year olds are starting to fall into groups. They cantered away upsides before Christmas, many completing two light pieces of faster work. After which we gave them a quiet couple of weeks over Christmas and New Year. I am pleased to report they look fantastic and we have once again started to move forward with them.
One of my most precocious looking two year olds is an Intense Focus colt which I bought at the Doncaster Sales. He is from a young family, being out of a Batchelor Duke mare who has only had one runner to date. He is a lovely tough horse, which may well come from the Giants Causeway line. I hope to have him on the track when the turf season opens.
We also have a stunning daughter of Kodiac out of Baltic Belle. She was an expensive purchase from Book 1, being a full sister to Terror. I particularly like her outlook on life, being eager to learn, showing enthusiasm for her work and plenty of natural ability. She too could be seen in the early part of the season.
These are just two examples out of a bunch of yearlings I like very much. Of course lots can and will change between now and the 2nd April.
