GOOD LUCK VICTORIA
In no way do I have an inside track on the Victoria Pendleton story. However, like many others in the racing world, I have watched from afar as she tackles the challenge of riding at the Cheltenham Festival. What she has achieved to date is nothing short of extraordinary. Of course being an Olympic athlete would have given her a solid foundation when beginning the challenge of becoming a jockey.
Bravery, determination, dedication and mental strength are obviously all attributes that have moulded her outstanding career on a bike. These are also essential components for everyday life as a jockey. Victoria’s path to Fakenham today has not been plain sailing by any stretch. She is working with horses and not bikes and as everyone knows, with horses, this is the norm. However she has been a wonderful ambassador for our sport, giving a friendly and enuthusastic opinion from what she has seen from the very inside.
I would like to wish Victoria all the best for today and then onto Cheltenham.
