Gilgamesh landed the odds in good style at Redcar, he didn’t get the best of trips, but when Jamie pulled him out under a cool ride it was only a matter of when he was going to get to the front. As you will know he is a horse I have always held in very high regard, but he is still a big raw type. I will be mindful to look after him to ensure he can reach his full potential. This could mean swerving most of the big meetings this year, with the view that he will be an improved four year old.
Road to Dubai won in great style at Goodwood on Saturday under a confident ride from George Wood, he has improved from start to start and was unlucky at Nottingham last time, so it was no surprise to see him run well. I’ve always thought he’d be a mile and a half horse so to win over 10 furlongs can only be a positive. I’ll see what the handicapper does before making any plan for him.
Not only did we have a good week on the track, I also added to the two year old team at the Guineas Breeze up sale, purchasing a lovely Red Jazz filly for Tim Gedley and a Helmet colt for a new owner.
The older horses have done us proud this year but I’ve always been excited about the 25+ two year old team that we begin to run this week.
I would like to thank all the team at home for their hard work this year, its’ great that they are being rewarded with winners on the track.
