WINNERS NORTH AND SOUTH
We've had a great fortnight at Saffron House, both on the track and in the sales ring. Road to Dubai proved himself to be a wonderful servant to the yard by winning again under a superb ride from Hayley turner. He was midfield before making a sweeping run under hands and heels to win cosily at Redcar.
It was then the turn of Starboy to win, this time at Brighton. He sat last and showed an excellent turn of foot, getting his career firmly back on track for owners Excel Racing and Keith Breen. He's a horse that we have always held in quite high regard and it was nice to see that vindicated under Martin Harley on Monday.
I have been busy at the sales buying horses for all different types of clients, including horses by Bated Breath, Casamento, Exceed and Excel and Galileo amongst others. Already we are building quite a team for next year.
James Garfield has started his preparation to the Breeders Cup in great style, he remains in tremendous form and put in a lovely first piece of work since his victory in the Mill Reef. He will head to Chelmsford on Saturday under Michael Hills to get a feel of galloping as speed around a bend before completing his homework here in Newmarket. He is a horse with an outstanding attitude and is clearly thriving on racing.
For us here at Saffron House it is incredibly exciting that Frankie will retain the ride in America. Frankie’s confidence in the horse and experience is something that money can’t buy. It's truly thrilling preparing him for such a prestigious event as the Breeders Cup. I will keep you posted on his progress over the coming weeks.
