DEBUTS OF SOME EXCITING PROSPECTS
Although my intention has been to be quiet over the winter, we do have a number of back end two-year olds who will be making their racecourse debuts before being put away and until the spring. Bella Ferrari was a little bit disappointing on the face of things on her first run at Wolverhampton last weekend however we used the race as a lesson to educate her. She can be a little bit over exuberant at home so the plan was to drop her in and get her to settle, she tired late on but will improve hugely for the run.
Two horses I am looking forward to running are Magnetic Boundary who will head to Southwell on Tuesday for his debut. He is owned and bred by the Niarchos family and is by Belmont winner Union Rags. I think the surface will suit him but he will benefit from an increase in distance next season. Mewtow is a colt by Helmet owned by Alrabban Racing who will have his debut next Saturday, he too will improve hugely after this experience but it is important for us to get him on the track to give him an understanding of what racing is about and what is required of him. Further down the line Arthur Daley will be a horse to look forward to, a good-looking colt by Camelot out of listed placed mare Nasanice, he is a half-brother to Michael Stoute’s Hardwicke winner Maraahel. He is a beautiful free moving colt who had a set back earlier in the year and seems to have grown and strengthened as a result of his time off. He should give his owners Chelsea Thoroughbreds plenty of enjoyment in the spring and beyond.
