I was delighted with Keir Hardie’s debut run at Wolverhampton last week, he finished a clear second behind a very talented horse of David Simcock’s and is sure to improve upon that as the season progresses. A special mention must go to all of the staff at Stetchworth Park Stud who nursed him back into training after what looked like a career ending injury. I must also thank my staff at home for putting in so many extra hours in order to give him the best possible preparation for the race. Things start to liven up here with Road to Dubai declared to run at Wolverhampton on Saturday. He is a horse who had a hugely productive season last year and although he is fresh and well I expect he will improve significantly for the run. Next week sees the return of Starboy, who was a good winner on his last start at Brighton back in October. He appears to have done very well physically over the winter, I'm looking forward to seeing him back on the track. Yard favourite Jack the Truth is likely to reappear next week. His target has yet to be decided however Wolverhampton on Saturday evening looks the most likely option.
