GREENHAM DAY AT NEWBURY
We have a busy day at Newbury with 5 runners. Slipstream and Olympic Odyssey take their chances in the mile maidens, both horses are still immature mentally, however I’ve seen them in a good light at home and would therfore hope they will run encouraging races with the future in mind.
James Garfield lines up in the Greenham, I’m pleased with his draw and would expect Hey Gaman to cut out the running with Expert Eye slotting in last. The most likely scenario is that Expert Eye will be produced in the last two furlongs looking a massive danger. If there are any chinks in his armour I expect James to give him something to think about.
Gilgamesh lines up in the Greatwood Spring cup, he’s a giant of a horse that I’ve always adored, as a result we've brought him along quietly over the past two years. This is a step up for him both in distance and grade. I've been delighted with his homework, this will lead on nicely to the
Victoria Cup next month at Ascot.
Road to Dubai will be the final runner for us at Newbury. He was a star for us last year, winning four races. I was pleased with his come back run at Wolverhampton he's sharpened up for that.
