WINNING DOUBLE AT WINDSOR
We’ve had a brilliant couple of weeks with the horses really coming into form. I’m pleased that the hard work and patience from the team is paying off.
Starboy has been raised 14lbs having won two races in good style before being arguably unlucky when bidding for a treble at Chepstow to finish a close second.
We had a double at Windsor on Monday evening with Concierge showing an excellent turn of foot to get himself out of trouble, he looks a 2-year-old with a bright future. I was delighted with Advanced Virgo stepping up in trip for the first time, he looks as if he’ll be a nice middle-distance handicapper as the year progresses; he could easily run next week before the handicapper has a chance to reassess him, having won an apprentice race he won’t carry the usual 6lb penalty.
Crash Helmet made an excellent start to his belated career at Wolverhampton yesterday finishing second after having an awkward trip. His owners Ontoawinner & Saffron Racing II have been incredibly patient and I was thrilled to reward them with something to look forward to.
