We have two exciting international runners over the next few months.
Concierge has been invited to run in the Al Rayyan Trophy in Doha on the 21st December. He’s been a star for us throughout the year winning three times culminating in an excellent performance at Newcastle, giving weight away to some highly rated rivals. I’ve had this race in mind for him throughout the second half of the season as the tight seven furlongs on fast ground will suit him. At this stage, it looks like he'll be the top-rated horse in the race and with the aid of Jason Watson we'd expect a very competitive run. Generously, the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club are paying for the whole trip and have put up a prize fund of $100,000. It should be an excellent trip.
Another Batt will head out for the Dubai World Cup Carnival. We have options for him over seven and a mile in the early part of next year with a huge amount of prize money on offer. He’s been an incredibly consistent horse this year, with possibly his best run finishing fourth in the extremely competitive Balmoral Handicap at Ascot on his last start. The sweeping bends of Meydan should suit him well and we may ride him with a little more patience. He’s as genuine as they come and takes his racing well.
