We’re generally quiet on the home front with the exception of Jack The Truth who could head to Newcastle next week. He’s slipped to a sensible mark and I feel he could be very competitive on a track that he should like, for owner Jack Stephenson
Another Batt has come out of his recent run at Meydan in extremely good form. I’m therefore really keen to try him over six furlongs. One of the reasons behind this is, I feel it could be a weaker division of horses as opposed to seven furlongs to a mile race, which seem to be getting hotter as the carnival progresses. He’s a multiple winner over six furlongs and I believe he should enjoy the straight track. We’re hopeful that Connor Beasley will be available to ride.
Concierge is preparing for the Al Biddah Mile (Group 2) on the 23rd February. Frankie Dettori is committed to ride and will therefore be coming to have a sit on him before he flies out. It’s entirely possible that he will be racing against the same horses that he beat last month. However, there will of course be a couple of European horses lining up. My only real concern is the mile as he has plenty of speed in his pedigree. That being said he finished off his race over seven furlongs extremely well and I’d be pretty hopeful under a patient Dettori that he could see the trip out.
