We’ve been relatively quiet so far this year on the runner’s front. However, I’m pleased to say the horses are in great condition and we’re set to have a busy start to the flat season. Strawberry Jack ran a fantastic first race for the year, finishing second only being beaten by stall thirteen of thirteen around Kempton. He’s physically matured like so many of the other horses over the winter months and looks to have an exciting season ahead at his level. Another Batt has returned from Dubai in good form, he will therefore be prepared for the Lincoln. I’m looking forward to stepping him back up to a mile, as it will give him the chance to travel smoothly through the race. It’s possible that stable favourite Gilgamesh might make a return over the same weekend and new recruit Storm Over could also head for Doncaster on the Sunday. The two year olds are making excellent progress, I’m hoping to have a couple of runners in the first few weeks of the season.
