BEAST FROM THE EAST
The so called ‘Beast from the East’ has hit Newmarket and doesn’t look like stopping. Thankfully the Newmarket Heath Groundsmen have done a wonderful job at maintaining the gallops and the horsewalks so we haven’t been too inconvenienced; that being said I wouldn’t be particularly excited about preparing a horse for Cheltenham out of Newmarket over the coming few days.
Unfortunately Newcastle was abandoned due to the heavy snow, I was looking forward to getting Keir Hardie’s belated career started. He will now have to wait which is a shame as it was a fantastic opportunity for him.
Jack the Truth has been in good form and is working nicely despite the arctic conditions. He is being prepared to run at Southwell in a week’s time.
Other than Jack, things are relatively quiet on the runners front however we expect to be getting going some time towards the middle of March.
