Phoenix Of Spain needs absolutely no introduction to Eve Lodge, being the sire of Caballo De Mar.

This yearling colt really stood out to Billy and I at Doncaster as a precocious 2 year old type. He seemed to have a great mind and spent the couple of days powering up and down, always looking as though he wanted to please — something we place a huge amount of importance on.

His dam, a Kingman mare, has already produced a winning debutante. At this early stage, he strikes me as a spring two-year-old, with the scope to continue improving as he progresses through next season.

It is important for us to have horses eligible for the restricted maiden programme, a division we have done particularly well in over the past few years. Horses bought on a similar basis include Rocket Rodney, Coco Jack and O’Gorman.
