Gleneagles ex Elltaaf

Gleneagles, in my opinion has always been an underrated stallion; currently striking at 60% winners to runners and 7.75% Stakes winners to runners, no one can deny what a fantastic year he’s had. Two year old Royal Scotsman has led the way winning the Group 2 Richmond Stakes at Glorious Goodwood. Jumbly and Insinuendo are both fillies that have continued to improve, a trait he seems to be installing into much of his stock. It was only last October that Loving Dream won the Group 1 Prix Royalleau.

Her dam Elltaaf (Invincible Spirit) was a winner on her second start. She has plenty of speed in her pedigree and is a young mare that has produced two runners. Significantly, the Gleneagles over Invincible Spirit cross has already proven a hit; with three winners from the cross including Southern Hills winner of the Listed Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot.

When buying on a limited budget there’s only so much pedigree we pay attention too. This filly is an outstanding physical, she has a deep girth, a nice length and a quality loose walk. Overall, she has the outlook of a filly that will certainly be running at two ,but will also train on. As she walks towards you, she is very correct and has a good eye. She was the filly I most wanted to buy at the Somerville Sale. I was delighted to add her to the team who have been in tremendous form this year with 32 winners so far and striking at 20%.
